Places to visit before time runs out!

If you are planning ahead for your holidays there are some places you need to get to sooner rather than later; before they disappear from the public eye. Or should you go at all? The dichotomy of tourism. The Galapagos Islands and the Taj Mahal are being destroyed by their visitors; industrialism is destroying the Congo Basin and Madagascar. Some places are just plain sinking, like the Maldives and Venice – best to get there quickly if you are vertically challenged! And some places are shrinking before our eyes, like the Alps and the Dead Sea. If you want to visit these places do it now, no long term plans.
